There are a lot of job posts on LinkedIn with ‘easy apply’ applications. Although this is very handy for applicants, it may be quite a struggle for HR to go through all those responses.

I see many job posts with 100-200 applicants. Just now I even noticed one with 1,283 applicants! 1,283; can you imagine? Of course, only a couple of them will be attracting the attention of HR.

So, how DO you attract HR’s attention?

How do you attract HR's attention

First of all: look professionally!

Second: You need a trigger. Whether you like it or not, a trigger can be your picture. Do you look friendly? And thus professional?

What are your biggest achievements? What can you tell ‘the reader’ about what you handled well and for instance saved the company money? Or how did you manage to organize whatever though it was deemed impossible?

Your resume on LinkedIn or your cv with ‘just’ dates and company names will not trigger an organization out of the blue. Just like you’d like to know ‘what’s in it for me’, so does a company. Make sure you’ll stand out in the crowd!

And as far as a cv is concerned; it does help if a layout looks great and professionally. With current layout software your cv can easily ‘shine’! Also, write down what your duties were. People want to know whát you have experience with, not only where. I do.

I hope this also helps you find your dream job!

Good luck!
